Both classes engage with the Body as Conduit curriculum, described below.

Body as Conduit is a class series that draws from my own dancestral lineage of experimental, release-based, and improvisational techniques that works within the methodology of the body as a conduit for processing, imagining, listening, and transforming. We will find these ideas evidenced in class via ‘set’ material and skill building, improvisational investigation, and visceral image offerings.
In class, repetitive loops of movement and durational exercises will function as a sieve to locateefficient use of weight and momentum in the body. The movement prioritizes sensation over shape while looking to access a specific use of energy that draws from the earth, thru our bodies as conduit, and out into the space around us. We will access this sensitivity to gravity from the start of class in durational choreographed pathways before researching the sensation further in improvisational scores, ‘across the floor’ exercises, and communal dance practices. Class will often conclude in a larger choreographed phrase that collages together the skills, sensations, and ideas that we have accumulated that day.
We will accentuate weightedness, harness resilient strength, and aim to conjure the emotionalfrequencies we need for that day– communally working to feel really good.
